BANGKOK, 22 November 2021: Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants,
one of the six brands in IHG Hotels & Resorts’ Luxury & Lifestyle
Collection, unveils its latest project Kimpton Khao Yai.
It marks IHG’s third Kimpton in Thailand, following the
brand’s debut in 2020.
Opening in 2024, the 100-room Kimpton Khao Yai is located
in Pak Chong, a rural district on the northern outskirts of
the Khao Yai national park. It will feature 70 rooms and 30 pool villas with
supporting facilities such as a restaurant, meeting space, swimming pool,
fitness centre, spa and resort centre. The property is owned by Nusasiri Public
IHG vice president development Southeast Asia and Korea
Serena Lim, said: “We have seen a
lot of interest for the brand since we opened Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok in the
middle of the pandemic to much fanfare, becoming a much-loved and popular
destination for Bangkok residents and their pets. The signing of Kimpton
Kitalay Samui swiftly followed, and now the third Kimpton has been signed in
Thailand… it is very much part of our plan to grow our luxury and lifestyle
portfolio in Thailand by 50% in the next few years.”
Kimpton Khao Yai will be part of the Nusa MyOzone Project, a
600-acre integrated resort that will include an 18-hole golf course, retail and
recreational facilities including an organic farm, hotels and residences, and a
private airport. The resort will be close to waterparks, adventure theme parks,
vineyards and golf courses, as well as the outdoor adventure experiences in
Khao Yai National Park.
Kimpton is expanding across Asia, after openings in Taipei,
Tokyo and Bangkok and now two more properties in Thailand in Samui and Khao Yai. The brand will also open
a resort in Indonesia’s Nusa Dua beach district on Bali island.
IHG has 29 hotels
across eight brands in Thailand and another 34 properties in the pipeline. The
new signings are part of the company’s aim to double the size of IHG’s estate
in Thailand within the next five years and grow its Luxury and Lifestyle
portfolio in Thailand by 50%.
